The IUC Asia team participated in the IUC training week held in Brussels in February 2017. At this occasion, experts were able to learn in depth about the technical issues of the EU’s Covenant of Mayors. The Joint Research Centre of the EU delivered a two-day training on this. IUC experts were also trained on the decentralized city-to-city cooperation schemes supported by the European Union in the last years.

This activity included participants from all IUC-regions, i.e. Latin America, North America, India, Japan and Asia. The meeting was supported by the Brussels-based IUC coordination unit and managed by the FPI. It was a truly global activity that showed EU’s commitment to implementing the UN Urban Agenda and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change at global scale.
