The IUC team organised an online meeting between European and Chinese climate action experts to discuss the EU-China Low Carbon Cities Joint Study, to be launched in July 2020. Mr Zhou Zeyu – Associate Senior Researcher in China’s National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation (NCSC) – introduced few chapters of the study and explained some possible updates particularly to batch 3 cities from China’s Low Carbon Programme. Experts from China and Europe discussed the policy implications of the cities’ comparison for the EU-China Low Carbon Cities Partnership. The chapter includes the city-to-city cooperation on low carbon policies and the development of the proper local low carbon economy and innovation framework.
