The City of Barcelona has submitted the Urban Cooperative Action Plan (UCAP) for the activities with Liuzhou (Guangxi Province). The plan reflects the upodated priorities and counterparts in Liuzhou, including the Binjiang Smart Valley of Liudong New District. Barcelona proposes to enhance an exchange of know-how by developing comparable study cases and, for this purpose, offers the possibility of also establishing a pilot area in 22@Barcelona district. The document lists the actions carried out between Liuzhou and Barcelona until now and sets out the City of Barcelona’s Action Plan proposal for future cooperation. It includes the main institutions involved in Barcelona, namely the Municipal Urban Planning Institute (IMU), renowned urban planners from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Barcelona School of Architecture – ETSAB) and GINA Barcelona architects. Back in 2019, Barcelona and Liuzhou have signed two agreements to cooperate on the development of pilot areas in Liuzhou’s Northern Ecological New District’s and Liudong New District.
